Video Premier- Journeys to Freedom: Vietnamese Story
This is a film that every American should see, especially Vietnam Veterans who will better understand their legacy.
Journeys to Freedom is a documentary that tells the stories of Vietnamese refugees who left Vietnam in overcrowded boats risking life and limb for freedom after the fall of Saigon. It is a tale of courage, of success and of gratitude for the American Veterans who fought for them, and in some cases, fought side-by-side with them.
The evening will begin at the Independence Seaport Museum with a showing the 20-minute video, followed by an audience question and answer session with several of the video’s participants. The evening will conclude at the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial — a few blocks away — with a twilight tour of the Memorial featured in the video. The tour will be given by board members who have an intimate knowledge of this Philadelphia treasure. Tour is weather permitting
