Memorial Day Recap and Photos

Maj. Gen. Walt Lord USA (ret.) delivered the keynote address at the traditional Memorial Day ceremony on May 27, 2019.The Philadelphia Police Department provided an honor guard, buglers and firing squad. Other honor guards were represented by the Hajdack-Mokan Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Association and the RVN Veterans. The Liberty Bell Chapter, VVA 266, also provided a firing squad. Members of La Salle College High School and other volunteers placed 648 flags along Spruce Street and the biographies of those lost in the war were on display. A key part of the ceremony was the laying of the wreaths by local patriotic and veterans organizations. Read more

Journeys to Freedom is a documentary that tells the stories of Vietnamese refugees who left Vietnam in overcrowded boats risking life and limb for freedom after the fall of Saigon. It is a tale of courage, of success and of gratitude for the American Veterans who fought for them, and in some cases, fought side-by-side with them.
